A Dominican packaging company has made a significant investment in upgrading its plastic film manufacturing capabilities by purchasing three dedicated film blowing machines from PLASTAR. The equipment will enable the Dominican producer to expand production of laminated films, shrink films, and plastic bags to meet growing domestic and export demand.

The first machine is a high-volume film blowing machine designed for manufacturing lamination film for applications such as food packaging, building materials, and industrial products. The system can produce films with complex multi-layer structures that provide enhanced strength, barrier properties, and other desirable characteristics.

The second machine is a dedicated shrink film blowing machine. Shrink film is widely used to package, bundle, and protect a variety of consumer and industrial goods. The machine's precise temperature control and stable airflow enable it to produce high-quality shrink films with excellent clarity and consistent shrinkage.

The third machine is a versatile film blowing machine designed specifically for the production of a range of plastic bag products, from simple T-shirt bags to more complex specialty bags. The system offers flexible die configurations and advanced tension control to ensure uniform thickness and appearance across the bag film.

“We are pleased to support the growth of the Dominican Republic’s plastic industry by providing this High-Tech film production equipment,” said their production manager. “These machines will enable local manufacturers to increase production, improve product quality, and expand into new markets in the Caribbean and around the world.”

The new blown film line is expected to be operational in the fourth quarter of this year. Local industry organizations praised the investment, noting that it will help reduce the country’s reliance on imported plastic film and create new manufacturing jobs.
